This project focuses on the creation of a stool using predefined materials and solely interlocking systems for its assembly.
The provided materials were:
- a plywood plank
- three broom handles
- PVC rod, - Two meters of rope.
The seat is made up of thirty plywood slats, and the stool is held together exclusively through interlocking mechanisms, with no use of screws, glue, or nails.
My design features a “straddle” seat that passes between the legs, allowing for greater ease in leaning forward. Additionally, the stool’s height is adjustable, making it adaptable to users of varying sizes. This approach emphasizes both ergonomic flexibility and the functional potential of simple materials when combined through thoughtful interlocking systems.
